Traveling internationally with Type 1 Diabetes

it turns out to be quite challenging to travel with Type 1 Diabetes.

For starters, every country has different laws, approved medical devices, and even insulin strengths. Prescriptions often need to be filed within a specific region and cannot be used outside of that region.

Insurance will only cover up to a month of devices normally, but what happens when you go on a longer trip, and still need to have a CGM or Insulin pump?

And lastly, insurance itself is only valid within a specific region, and most/all of the global insurance we applied for considered Diabetes an excluded pre-existing condition.

We'll talk through some of the challenges we faced and the approach we took to work around them, (though none of this should be considered official medical advice as we aren't doctors, and your mileage may vary.)
