Dexcom G7 and Omnipods

This post will talk through the availability of Dexcom and Omnipod devices, as that was one major consideration in how we planned our travel.

Dexcom G7 is the CGM that Anna currently uses, and it's a device that needs to be replaced every 10 days. it works well over bluetooth and doesn't require much in the way of maintenance. 3 kits required per month.

Omnipod is the Insulin pump, and it works pretty well too but has to be replaced every 3 days! They come in a 5 pack, which means you need 2 such kits per month.

Dexcom G6 has different device compatibility, though, and for instance Omnipod Insulin Pumps work natively with Dexcom G6, and not Dexcom G7.

Dexcom G7 was as of 3/28/2025 not available in Europe or Australia yet.
